ACTION MEETING 'WE REFUSE THE RENT INCREASE' Veghel – April 15

Since 1993, rents have increased by 153%! This year, many Veghel corporations such as Area, investors and private landlords are adding a maximum of 5% on top of that for social housing and 7.7% for mid-range rent! While our wages were moderated, rent has become unaffordable after years of cutbacks, mismanagement and market forces. A quarter of tenants cannot make ends meet after paying the rent! To tackle the housing crisis, the government must structurally invest in public housing instead of unilaterally passing the bill on to the tenants.

That is why we are taking action against the upcoming rent increase and are organizing information and action meetings throughout the Netherlands. More than 800,000 tenants are left with too little for essential living expenses after paying the rent. Nevertheless, landlords and the government have decided to put further pressure on the livelihood of their tenants. After the highest rent increase in 30 years in 2024, another mega rent increase will follow in 2025. Time for action! Join us and refuse the rent increase! Read here why we fight for lower rents.
