Newsletter #10
July 1 is just around the corner, and with it the start of the rent increase. Fortunately, you have all signed up en masse to refuse the rent increase and to issue a widely supported statement together. Locally, more and more solidarity networks and initiatives between tenants are emerging!
Posters
Order another before July 1th poster at the Red Lap and hang it in front of your window to show that you refuse the rent increase or support our action! Take a photo and share it with #bevriesdehuur on social media to make extra visible on July 1 that we are demanding a multi-year rent freeze, to make and keep living affordable again!
Stop direct debit
An important next step to refuse the rent increase as of 1 July is to stop the direct debit of the rent payment to your landlord. Rent is often automatically debited because you have given permission for this at the beginning of the rental period. By completing and sending our standard letter to your landlord, you can easily withdraw this direct debit and ensure that your landlord does not automatically increase the rent as of 1 July.
Download here is the standard letter for canceling the direct debit.

Flyer action The Hague
On June 9, WWDH The Hague will distribute door-to-door flyers in the Molenwijk for a rent freeze as of July 1. In The Hague, the group consists of members of the Bond Precaire Woonvorms, SP Den Haag, the Haagse Stadsfeest and a number of affiliated rent increase refusers. They are going to distribute flyers in Molenwijk because many tenants of Hof Wonen live in very bad houses, but can expect a rent increase every year. Refusing the rent increase can be an extra means of pressure for these residents towards the landlord to enforce renovations.
Do you want to fly along? Send an email to denhaag@wijwigeerendehuurverhuur.nl to sign up, or come to the Laakmolen at Trekweg 102 on June 9 at 7:00 PM.
